Support of parents / Lab assistance
To minimise loss of scientific progress and, hence, to support career advancement during pregnancy and the first years of parenthood the CRC finances scientific support personnel for a period of 6-12 months in the lab to keep experiments and research projects going and to relieve young parents from routine duties in the lab. This offer will be addressed to scientists with children up to an age of 3 years.
Day Care and Family Friendly Infrastructure
The University’s own day-care centre 'Paramecium' and a back-up and babysitting service (on demand) for events and meetings are parts of the childcare infrastructure for children of employees and students.
Family-friendly infrastructure on the campus.
Parent-child rooms (equipped with desks, beds and playing areas for kids) have been established in various research institues. In 2014 a parent-child room has been established at the CECAD Research Centre, where several groups of the CRC 1218 are hosted. CECAD is in walking distance for all participating groups.
