The Collaborative Research Center 1218 at a glance

Scientists from five leading German research institutions have teamed up to study how mitochondria influence activity, differentiation and survival of the cell.

The Collaborative Research Centre (CRC) / Sonderforschungsbereich (SFB) 1218 on Mitochondrial regulation of cellular function has been funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) in 2016. The CRC 1218 was consecutively awarded funding until June 2028.

The CRC 1218 is organized into seventeen scientific and five central projects. The Integrated Research Training Group (mitoRTG) provides a graduate programme with the focus on mitochondrial expertise specifically designed for early career researchers of the CRC.
