Kölner KinderUni 2025
Also in 2025 the DNA blueprint was in the KölnerKinderUni programme
We are proud that also this year, on 17 & 20 March 2025, the mito-RTG | CRC1218 hosted 2 interactive workshops at the KölnerKinderUni!
Young future scientists aged 8 to 12 learned in hands-on experiments how the uniqueness of individuals is encoded in the DNA.

Kölner KinderUni 2023
On 14 & 16 March 2023 Lara Kroczek & Lilli Pazurek with Eileen Cors took the mito-RTG | CRC 1218 to the KölnerKinderUni
Three enthusiastic doctoral candidates of the laboratory of Thomas Langer,Lara, Lilli and Eileen, contributed the workshop „The mysterious blueprint of our lives - the DNA” to the 2023’s “KölnerKinderUni” programme.
Young pupils learned how to extract DNA from tomatoes, dyed and observed own buccal mucosal epithelial cells using light microscopy and learned how our DNA makes us to unique individuals.
